Read on if you dare, but some of these descriptions could lead to F51.5 (nightmare disorder) and\/or F40.233 (fear of injury).<!--more--><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\"><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><b>ICD-10 Codes for Action Straight out of a Horror Movie<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">W29.3XXA (contact with chain saw&#8211;\u201dTexas Chainsaw Massacre\u201d)<\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">R44.0 (auditory hallucinations\u2014\u201cParanormal Activity\u201d)<\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">R44.1 (visual disturbances\u2014\u201cThe Shining\u201d)<\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">Y08.01 (assault by hockey stick [Jason wore a hockey mask in \u201cFriday the 13<sup>th<\/sup>\u201d])<\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">W31.81 (contact with roller coaster, \u201cFinal Destination\u201d)<\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">W56.21XA (bitten by Orca, \u201cOrca: The Killer Whale\u201d)<\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">X99.2 (assault by sword or dagger, \u201cHalloween,\u201d all 10 of them)<\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">W27.0 (contact with axe &#8211;\u201cAmerican Psycho\u201d)<\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">T71.224 (asphyxiation due to being trapped in a car trunk, undetermined) \u2013 not sure this ever happened in a horror movie, but scary nonetheless \u2026<\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\"><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><b>Codes for the Creature Features<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">X32.XXXA (\u201cexposure to sunlight\u201d&#8211; useful in any vampire movie)<\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">K03.0 (speaking of Dracula\u2026\u201cexcessive attrition of teeth\u201d)<\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">L68.0 (more of a werewolf issue\u2014\u201chirsutism\u201d)<\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\"><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><b>ICD-10 codes for Scary Locations<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">Y92.89 (includes abandoned house as a place of occurrence)<\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">Y92.86 (slaughterhouse)<\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">Y92.828 (swamp\/other wilderness areas\u2014\u201cSwamp Thing\u201d\/\u201dThe Blair Witch Project\u201d)<\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">What\u2019s Halloween without some phobias? F40.218 includes fear of insects, parasites, snakes, and less commonly, chickens.
