The San Diego Regional Immunization Registry (SDIR) is an immunization information system, which is part of the statewide California Immunization Registry (CAIR). The Registry allows the sharing of a computer record of an individual's immunizations so that person, parents, and doctors can see what shots that person has received and which shots are needed. SDIR can help individuals and their health care providers protect all San Diego County residents and visitors from serious illnesses like polio, whooping cough, measles, meningitis, Hepatitis A & B, and other vaccine preventable diseases.
The information in the SDIR is confidential and secure. Access to records is authorized and monitored by the County of San Diego Health and Human Services Immunization Branch. Only authorized healthcare providers and other organizations that need to review immunization records for enrollment - such as schools, childcare providers, and specific county programs - are assigned user names and passwords. San Diego County residents who want to send their immunization records for SDIR staff to input into the registry may do so.
