We healthcare writers are guilty of having tunnel vision. Meaningful Use is an incredibly important program, but it seems like it’s the only incentive program we write about. Today we rectify this by looking at another incentive program that warrants some attention.
The program is the oft-ignored Physicians Quality Reporting System or PQRS. It’s similar to Meaningful Use in that both are CMS-run and can bring in extra revenue for your practice, but other than that, the two are actually very different.
This means qualifying for one incentive program doesn’t automatically qualify you for the other. But the good news is that you may still potentially qualify for both. Therefore, it’s important to know the differences to find out if you have the chance to double-dip.
If you think qualifying for PQRS is attainable, dig deeper into the program at the CMS PQRS page. Maybe you’ll be able to generate additional cash flow to your practice.
