Q&A with Juan Molina, CareCloud Director of Business Development
Q: What is CareCloud Connect?
A: CareCloud Connect is our integrated partner ecosystem providing medical groups access to a variety of innovative solutions that complement CareCloud’s suite of products and services. Connect is a comprehensive collection of apps, services, specialty solutions, and clinical connections.
Connect is an integral part of our vision to be the premier cloud-based platform for healthcare. We believe that Connect is just one step among others that help drive us to that goal.
At CareCloud, we believe that everybody should have the right tools at the right time for their particular practice, whether that includes CareCloud’s software and services or our partners’ solutions. This philosophy of seamlessly integrating with different innovative solutions allows our customers to be even more successful.

Q: What are the benefits of an open platform?
A: There are multiple advantages. For clients, they gain easier access to our partner’s innovative solutions to make their practices more efficient, especially as their business grows and needs change. This ultimately helps them drive increased productivity and operational performance in their practice. For partners, Connect is an easy point of entry to CareCloud’s open partner ecosystem.
Unfortunately, much of healthcare IT is still mired with legacy solutions that make the process of integrating cumbersome, time-consuming and expensive for everyone – especially medical groups and developers.
Q: Why is it important for CareCloud to connect with both partners and developers?
A: We see that one of the major challenges that face the healthcare industry today is its history of closed and proprietary systems. To that end, we feel healthcare should be open.
We also believe that it’s not realistic for any one company to build everything for healthcare – it’s too daunting and the industry is too complex. At CareCloud, we want to focus on what we do really well, and partner with organizations who are great in other areas.
Connect also gives us the opportunity to formalize the process in which companies and developers partner with us. For developers, Connect is the entry point for requirements, guidelines and advice on how to become a partner and make the most of the CareCloud platform. They can also connect their applications seamlessly through our CareCloud APIs.
At the end of the day, we feel that this approach is what helps drive healthcare forward.
Q: Why is it important for practices to integrate with other solutions aside from CareCloud’s suite of products?
A: Our clients have been vocal about their desire to leverage tools across the healthcare IT spectrum – and we agree.
We believe that choice belongs to our customers. This is how we interact with products and services in our personal lives; we choose the right products for ourselves that meet our specific needs. Why should healthcare be any different?
Q: How does Connect work for a range of established and startup health IT companies?
A: For companies that have been in the industry for many years, Connect gives them a platform to showcase their solutions to a broader healthcare audience. There are great products and services that serve specific needs, and our customers have been asking for them. Connect gives them access to a whole host of solutions.
For startups, it’s about speeding up innovation. Connect allows them to integrate quickly. Most startups today are built on modern, open architectures – just like CareCloud. Therefore, they’re able to very quickly integrate with our platform. In fact, some companies have mentioned that our APIs are incredibly easy to work with versus what they have integrated with elsewhere.
Q: Where do you see all this going in the future?
A: Today we have more than one hundred different connections, but in the next year or so we expect to quickly expand our ecosystem even more.
We’re also working toward allowing our clients to directly connect to partners – right within the CareCloud platform the same way you add apps from other enterprise software company products.
