Earlier this year, CareCloud and QuantiaMD joined forces to create the Practice Profitability Index (PPI), a survey gauging the overall financial and operational health of U.S. physician practices. According to the study, doctors view their colleagues as the best source for practice guidance.
With that in mind, CareCloud and QuantiaMD teamed up again to launch the Health IT Case Study Challenge, asking physicians from across the country to share stories on how they used health IT to improve practice performance. Three finalists were chosen to reveal their strategies, which we’ve gathered for you in this free eBook.
Family Health Centers of Baltimore, for instance, used its EHR to achieve greater accuracy with its diagnostic codes, thus increasing revenue.
“Our billing and collections have improved by 70%, and we are now showing a financial surplus rather than a deficit,” said Dr. Bernard Abbott, FHCB’s Chief Medical Officer.
Another finalist, the Wright Center for Graduate Medical Education, used health IT to reduce its administrative burden by automating intensive manual patient management tasks. Considering that 58% of physicians are currently investing at least one day per week on administrative tasks, that’s no small task.
