Continuum

With June pretty much in the books, we’ve already reached the halfway point of the year. But we aren’t going to sit back and reflect just yet. A big development stole the spotlight this week.

We’re talking about the immigration reform bill that just passed through the Senate. It’s such an important change, we dedicated two posts to it. It’s not like we forgot about some of the industry’s more important topics, either. We had a few EHR security and RCM pieces were sprinkled in to round things out.

Power Your Practice
Under Senate Bill 744 most currently illegal immigrants will not have access to public health benefits until after 10 years. My colleague Xavier doesn’t believe they should have to wait that long.

Billings and collections processes are the areas most commonly targeted by physicians trying to improve operational performance. So what’s the best route to take when trying to improve your revenue cycle?

This contributed piece debunks four myths about the security capabilities of cloud-based EHRs.

The fourth installment of our five-part whitepaper series addresses the best practices to follow for a successful EHR transition.

In reply to Xavier’s piece, I reasoned that 10 years is a perfect buffer period for the healthcare industry to prepare for an influx of patients should Senate Bill 744 pass.

CareCloud Blog
Last Thursday, CareCloud and the Intel Corporation held a webinar about unlocking the security benefits of cloud-based EHRs. Check out some of the questions attendees asked here.

In a bit of local news, Project Lift Miami recently partnered with the Innovation Center at the University of Miami to create the only digital health focused start up accelerator in South Florida.

That about sums up the week. If you’re looking for more from PYP, sign up for our email list.
